Supporting the Kalimantan Interconnection System, PLN IP Services and PLN UIK Dwipantara Provide 40 MW of Capacity at the Embalut Substation

 

Jakarta, October 26, 2026 — The availability of electricity supply is a crucial factor in supporting community activities and the growth of the industrial sector in Kalimantan. To support these needs, PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) signed a cooperation contract with PLN Unit Induk Genbangkitan (UIK) Dwipantara on Monday (October 26) to provide 40 MW of generating capacity at the Embalut Substation. Through Rental Power Services, this collaboration is expected to maintain sufficient power in the Kalimantan Interconnection System and support the continuity of electricity supply through flexible and adaptive energy solutions tailored to system needs.

 

This additional capacity is a strategic step to strengthen power reserves, anticipate growth in energy consumption, and maintain the continuity of electricity supply in Kalimantan. PLN IP Services implements this by prioritizing unit readiness, professionalism, safety, and operational efficiency.

 

Sujana, General Manager of PLN UIK Dwipantara, expressed his appreciation for the synergy. "The provision of 40 MW of capacity at the Embalut Substation is an important step in maintaining sufficient power in the Kalimantan Interconnection System," he said. He hopes this collaboration will continue to run optimally so that the public and industry can enjoy reliable electricity services.

 

Hari Cahyono, President Director of PLN IP Services, stated that this collaboration reflects the PLN Group's synergy in maintaining sufficient power and strengthening the readiness of electricity supplies for community activities and economic growth. "PLN IP Services is ready to support the needs of the electricity system by providing reliable and optimal generating capacity," he said.
