PLN IP Services Takes Concrete Action for a Clean Indonesia at HPSN 2026
To strengthen its commitment to environmental sustainability through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, PLN IP Services, through its Nusa Penida Work Unit, is taking an active role in supporting the Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful Indonesia (ASRI) National Movement, initiated by the Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Agency. This participation is realized through direct involvement in a series of commemorations of National Waste Awareness Day (HPSN) 2026.
As part of the national electricity ecosystem that operates closely with the community and surrounding environment, PLN IP Services recognizes that maintaining sustainability is not only the responsibility of the government but also the business sector. Therefore, involvement in HPSN 2026 is a concrete step by the company to support the strengthening of integrated waste management from upstream to downstream to achieve the national target of waste reduction and management.
As a manifestation of its commitment to environmental and social sustainability (CSR), PLN IP Services collaborated with the Nomad Zero Plastic Foundation in the Coastal Clean Up: Reconnect & Regenerate activity, held along the coast of Nusa Penida.
The activity involved the removal of over 500 kg of plastic waste from the coastal area, the planting of 600 coral reef seedlings as a marine ecosystem rehabilitation effort, and the audit and mapping of waste data to support advocacy and sustainable waste management strategies. This activity involved environmental organizations, dive centers, local communities, and PLN IP Services personnel as a form of collaboration.
The President Director of PLN IP Services, Hari Cahyono, emphasized that the company's participation in HPSN 2026 is part of its ongoing commitment to implementing a CSR program that has a real impact.
"Through the CSR program, we ensure that our presence is not only oriented towards operational reliability but also makes a direct contribution to environmental sustainability and the well-being of the surrounding community. The Coastal Clean Up in Nusa Penida is a concrete manifestation of our support for the ASRI Indonesia National Movement and the strengthening of a culture of collaboration in waste management," said Hari Cahyono.
He further stated that the challenge of waste management, particularly plastic waste in coastal and marine areas, requires synergy from all stakeholders. Therefore, PLN IP Services continues to promote the implementation of a TJSL program integrated with the company's sustainability strategy.
Through the momentum of HPSN 2026, PLN IP Services hopes that the spirit of collaboration for Indonesia ASRI can be further strengthened, thereby creating a safe, healthy, clean, and beautiful environment for current and future generations.
