Maintaining Bright Light in Sorong: PLN IP Services Strengthens System Reliability with 11 MW Gas-Powered Plant

PLN IP Services officially signed a Lease Agreement for an 11 MW Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) as a strategic step to strengthen the reliability of the Sorong System. The agreement was signed between PT PLN (Persero) Papua and West Papua Regional Main Unit, PT PLN Batam, and PLN IP Services.

 

The assignment of management of the 11 MW Sorong PLTMG to PLN IP Services is part of the PLN Group's synergy to organize and optimize power plant management. This step is intended to ensure a reliable, safe, and sustainable electricity supply for the people of Papua and West Papua.

 

The President Director of PLN IP Services, Hari Cahyono, in his remarks expressed his appreciation for the trust placed in PLN IP Services to continue managing the plant.

 

"We express our gratitude and appreciation for the trust placed in PLN IP Services by PLN UIW Papua and West Papua. We welcome this trust with full readiness, supported by the technical assessment we have previously conducted. God willing, we will carry out this mandate professionally to maintain the reliability of electricity supply in the Papua and West Papua regions," said Hari Cahyono.

 

He emphasized that PLN IP Services is committed to providing reliable power plant management through the implementation of operational standards, occupational safety, and performance-based maintenance to support the continuity of the electricity system in eastern Indonesia.

 

Meanwhile, General Manager of PT PLN (Persero) UIW Papua and West Papua, Diksi Erfani Umar, emphasized PLN IP Services' strategic role in supporting electricity operations in Papua.

 

"PLN IP Services is a strategic company that we rely on to support electricity operations in Papua. Throughout our collaboration, PLN IP Services has demonstrated professional, responsive, and consistent performance in maintaining the reliability of power plant operations," said Diksi.

 

He added that the solid collaboration between PLN Group entities provides strong confidence in maintaining a reliable, secure, and sustainable electricity supply for the people of Papua and West Papua.

 

Through this transfer of work, PLN IP Services affirms its commitment as a strategic PLN Group company in supporting the reliability of the national electricity system, particularly in the Papua and West Papua regions, to promote equitable energy access in Indonesia.

Improve HR Capacity to Support SMK3 and Environmental Management PLN IP Services Holds K3L Workshop

In order to welcome the National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month in 2025, PLN IP Services held a K3L Workshop with the theme "Strengthening Human Resource Capacity in Supporting the K3 Management System (SMK3) and Environmental Management".   This activity was opened by the K3J Manager of PLN IP Services, Sholihah Fahtunisa, who emphasized the importance of safety as a top priority. "Occupational safety and health are the main foundations in all our activities, especially in high-risk power plant environments. I hope that through this workshop, we can all understand the importance of K3L culture and make it an inseparable part of every step of the work. With collaboration and commitment, we can create a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment," he said.
