PLN Indonesia Power Services (PLN IP Services) once again held the 2025 Innovation Work Award Selection (SPKI) as a concrete manifestation of the company's commitment to building a culture of sustainable innovation across all lines. The event officially opened on Wednesday (September 24th) at the PLN IP Services Headquarters and was attended online by all work units.
The SPKI is an annual event, now in its 13th year, and serves as a platform to showcase the best innovations from all PLN IP Services units. This year, the SPKI carries the theme "Innovation for High-Quality Growth," reflecting the company's commitment to delivering innovations that are not only creative but also have a real impact on improving the quality of business growth, operational reliability, efficiency, and competitiveness amidst the challenges of the energy transition.
"Since last year, we have been conducting innovation development and competitions within the company. This demonstrates PLN IP Services' support in encouraging the development of new, beneficial ideas, not only for the company but also for the entire PLN Group. Innovation is essentially the process of creating new ideas that arise from challenges, changes, and user needs. Therefore, never hesitate to innovate," explained Hari, President Director of PLN IP Services.
This year, the SPKI was participated by 31 work units with a total of 76 innovations. These entries were divided into three categories:
• Generation Category: 37 innovations
• Technical Support Category: 27 innovations
• Non-Technical Support Category (Management & Applications): 12 innovations
Of the total entries that entered the pre-selection stage, nine were selected to advance to the presentation stage before a panel of professional judges. The largest number of entries came from the generation category, reflecting PLN IP Services' primary focus on improving operational reliability and efficiency.
In addition to presentations, the event also featured an innovation sharing session with Firstep Eapl Astimen from the PLN Research and Development Center, who shared their experiences and inspiration in developing innovative projects.
After a rigorous judging process, the jury selected the winners of the 2025 SPKI as follows:
• 1st Place: PLTU Kalbar 1 (Lukmanul Hakim & Asroy)
• 2nd Place: PLTD Nusa Penida (Gede Bagus Nuartha & Made Agus Kesuma Wijaya)
• 3rd Place: PLTU Kalbar 1 (Ady Rahman Sugiarto & Nada Devianti)
Closing the event, Lasiran, Business Director of PLN IP Services, emphasized that innovation must become a culture, not just a competition.
"Innovation isn't just about finding a champion; it must become a culture that grows in our daily lives at PLN IP Services. Winning is just a bonus, while the main goal is how innovation can provide real added value to the company. Going forward, I hope PLN IP Services can compete not only within the PLN Group but also penetrate national and even international arenas," he said.
With a spirit of collaboration, dedication, and courage in presenting new ideas, PLN IP Services is optimistic that it can continue to produce reliable innovators who can drive the company forward and contribute significantly to national energy security.
